The Meet - Two

A message popped up in Kaaya's cell; it was from Kriya, "Kaayu, how's the situation there? Are you comfortable?" The text reminded Kaaya why she had come... As they were talking their food arrived. Kaaya, being clumsy, dropped food a few times. She thought this behaviour would piss Nimish off for not being careful; Nimish, however, was adoring her, telling her to clean the food crumbs near around..." Kaaya was surprised to see Nimish's face all calm, adoring. He wasn't bothered by Kaaya spilling food at all. It wasn't a good sign for Kaaya to convince Nimish to say no. Now, she had to do something out of her league to convince Nimish to say no. As they were having a conversation, something pissed off Kaaya, she got up from her chair, banged the table angrily and said, "How dare you say this! Don't you have any shame? What do you think of yourself, you manchild." Nimish was staring cluelessly as before 30 seconds, both were having a good conversation. He was recalling if he stated anything inappropriate, but that wasn't the case. He asked Kaaya to take her place so they could talk calmly. "I don't want to talk to a guy like you. Never call me again. This is my share of bill..." She angrily put the money on table and left.

Nimish sat there for few seconds processing what went wrong. He then suddenly got up, settled the bill and went behind her. Before he could reach her Kaaya had already sat in cab. As her cab was leaving she saw him and showed him a finger. Nimish was startled with what had happened with him. He couldn't resist the disappointment. He went to parking and he sat in his car for 10 minutes. As he was lost thinking his phone rang. It was his mother, "Nimmi, how did the meet go? Did you like the girl? How is she like? Your dad and I do like her. How about you?" Nimish didn't know what to say, "spare me a moment to say Maa. I like the girl. And it's a Yes from me. Convey my approval for this proposal. And now I'm heading home, once I get home I'll tell you everything about this girl." Nimish's mother hung up call with great happiness.

Kaaya called Kriya and told her she was heading home. She was controlling crying but it did not last long. She broke into cry. The cab driver saw her crying from mirror and inquired whether she was okay. She nodded in agreement she being okay. She called Kunal and Gautami to narrate all the experience. Both Kunal and Gautami were speechless. They didn't know what to say ahead. They consoled Kaaya. Kaaya reach home, Kriya was on call with Akku, they were having an argument. As soon as Kriya saw Kaaya she gave her stare with disappointment, "There you come. Kaaya what happened? How did it go? How come he end up saying yes for propsal?" Kaaya got shocked, "He what? He said yes?" The phone was on speaker, Akku angrily shouted, "Why are you surprised, didn't you know he would say yes, considering how you met?" Kaaya was stumbled listening to a familiar voice. Kriya snapped finger bringing her attention, she replied, "No. No chance of him saying yes..." Kaaya narrated the happenings to Kriya... Akku, Kriya and Kaaya were shocked to hear a yes.

Akku was not convinced with whatever kaaya stated, "I don't agree. No man would say yes after what all your friend is saying Kri. I don't know anything of what she had told had happened." Kaaya was furious listening this, "wait a minute... Were you there to validate the truth. And I'm helping your girlfriend here so please." Akku replied, "She is just not my girlfriend but I appreciate what all you did which you were not supposed to do in the first place taking a yes for an answer." Kaaya got more angry. She left in anger. Kriya and Akku continued their call.

Akku in frustration, "what is she? How rude of her..." Kriya politely answered, "Akku I understand you're frustrated but she was only helping us... He sound surprised, "Us?..." "I meant, me... She was helping me. Whatever she told I believe that's what happened. How come he end up saying yes after all this?" "That guy must have been stupid to be honest. I would have lashed at her if she would have done this to me like this that too in public. I'm actually started to think what made him say yes..." After sometime they hang up call.

Kriya knocked on door holding a coffee mug, "May I,", Kaaya was holding a bracelet as she heard the knock she suddenly kind of hid it in closed fist. She replied and asked Kriya to come. Kriya gave her coffee mug, "I'm sorry Kaaya for how Akku reacted earlier, it's just that he's possesive about me. We reunited after such challenges like it was fate. And now when it's again challenged he's not taking it well. And thank you for the trouble you went through because me. I sense something is off about you since you've arrived. Wanna share?" She placed her hand over Kaaya's hand. Kaaya opened the fist Kriya took out the bracelet, it was name bracelet. "Kaay... It's so pretty. From where did you get this?" She took the bracelet back, "Nothing it's just, someone special had gifted me similar one back then. I lost it somewhere and it kept me haunting. And here I am, I wanted a similar one so I purchase this myself the other day in mall." Kriya teased, "someone special yeah??? Kaayaa... But that's not it. What more is it?" Kaaya replied in sad tone, "Today, is just not my day... Do you remember the guy I told you about I met him on flight when I was coming here. And I occasionally met him back in my town. Today when I went to meet the guy it turned out it was him." Kaaya coughed on coffee, "What the crap, Nimmo, nimmi" while Kriya was snapping fingers remembering his name Kaaya replied, "Nimish Ray... It was him. For once I thought maybe I could get what I really want from my heart but how can I forget it's just too different. This guy came as a mystery and this great reveal was unexpected. Then after when I came home. Your Akku's voice had so much resemblance to my ex... So it's all fueled me inside... I never imagined he would be the reason for my tears. I really thought we understood eachother better. Cannot accept the fact that someone so important to me could cause me this much of pain. My heart feels with disappointment, hurt. I am angry at myself for allowing myself to get attached to him. Nevermind.... Maybe I'll get some sleep..." Kriya wanted to know more about both the guys but it was not the right time. She excused herself and let Kaaya sleep. Kriya turned off the lights. Kaaya held the bracelet tightly and started crying. She took her phone and played a voice note of a guy singing a song...
"It's alright
You've said, "Your words we had a fight"
Today, there's nothing left for you or me to say
I hope your window breaks
And light flows in
You find a way out
Of the soup that you're in
And I know that you're bright
But you know it too
You may not think you need it
But I forgive you"

On the other side, Nimish called Samartha he explained everything to her over phone. Samartha got angry, "How dare she do that? You went there to get humiliated or what. But wait a minute, you went there to say no to that girl right? Then why didn't you? Why you said yes?" Nimish smirked, "that's the point. As I was approaching the table I saw mirror reflection of the girl at the table reserved. And it was Kaaya..." "Wait, who again? My cousin, Kaaya. As in Kaaya Kaaya! What was she doing there?.." "I don't know Samu, that's the point of me saying yes makes a sense. I never saw Kriya's picture and finding Kaaya at the other side of the table introducing herself as Kriya umm hmm... Doesn't make sense!" Nimish was persistent to know the truth how did Kaaya end up at Kriya's place...

After hanging up call he took out his wallet, it was a picture of three little kids, two girls and one boy. While staring at the picture he caressed his finger over one girl in that picture, "How long do I need to wait to finally be yours?" He then gently places a kiss and put the picture back in his wallet.
