The Meet - Three

The next morning the sun shined bright. Kaaya woke up sunkissed to Kriya's shouting coming across the next room. She went to check on Kriya. She slightly peaked into the room, all she could see was Kriya frustrated, cussing her luck and what not. Kaaya couldn't dare to enter. She returned as she came. She went to pick up milk packets and newspapers, and she saw Shah granny putting Rangoli. She greeted her, "Good Morning beautiful." Shah Aaji noticed the sadness in Kaaya's voice, "Good Morning, Sweet tooth. What happened? You sound sad!" As the door was open, Shah Aaji heard Kriya shouting inside. "Why is Kriya yelling? How did the meet go?" Kaaya replied, "It didn't go as we planned, he approved the marriage proposal." She went and sat next to Aaji; she held her hand and told her everything that had happened, from the meeting to Akku's reaction. Aaji patted her head gently, she softly kissed her on her forehead. "Tough day, isn't it? It's surprising to hear a yes from his side. Let's see what he does next as it is very unusual. No man in his right senses would say yes to a girl who embarrassed him this much in public unless..." "Unless what???" Aajoba replied as he stood in the door, "Unless he is in deep love with her and holds her fondly." "Love... Umm, I don't know, but let's see. Now I'll go and make tea for Kriya. Why don't you and Aajoba join us? Kriya might feel good." Aaji showed willingness and Kaaya went to prepare tea for Kriya.

She walked out kitchen and found the ladies chatting in the hall. Maasi Maa saw Kaaya coming. She gestured for her to have a seat. Kaaya came and sat quietly. She was listening to the conversation about the meeting with the suitor. She poured tea and brought it.

Maasi Maa questioned herself loudly, "I cannot believe my plan did not go as we thought. What made this guy say a yes." Shah Aaji looked at Kaaya and said out loud, "He must have fallen harder for you girl. Otherwise, it was a no case of him saying yes." Messages popped at Kaaya's cell phone and it read as. "Good morning Sunshine. I'm Nimish Ray, the guy from the meet. You must not have recognised me yesterday night as I only asked if you made it to the house and didn't give you my reference. Of course, you didn't respond, considering a message from the unknown, but you happened to share your number. I believe that we should meet tonight if you're available. There's a thing we need to discuss. Let's catch up on where we left off. Regards Ray of Sunshine." Kaaya threw her phone in shock. "This guy is creepy. Such a pushy person he seems. And his words creep me out, such a cringeworthy individual. Great nut with words. Our plan didn't fail, Massi maa; the guy is nuts." The three read the texts out loud. Shah Aaji, "You need to meet this guy. We need to know how he ends up saying yes. What is he thinking about, and what is he up to? Set a meet with him sweet tooth."
Kaaya smirked, "Not even in my wildest dream I'm meeting this guy. I, let alone, cannot even bear a thought of meeting him, and you want me to meet him for a second time." She further muttered to herself, "what was I even thinking. What did I see in him to like him. Ofcourse I only saw him and now when I interact he's such a Playboy who acts to appear a cool guy." Shah aaji responded her with a calm thought of letting his thoughts be known.

After lot of thoughts Kaaya agreed to meet Nimish for second time. She texted him her willingness to meet and sent details about time and address. Nimish responded with his approval however he made an odd request. He texted her to bring her roommate along with. This weird condition startled the ladies. Kriya panicked, "Why he wants to meet me? How does he know about me? Did he catch us?" Kaaya responded, "I mentioned my roommate. I had no thing to talk on so I discussed you for sometime alongwith my other friends. After what happened yesterday maybe he didn't want to risk meeting me alone." For whole day the ladies discussed how Kaaya can make Nimish reveal his true intentions.

It was time. Kriya and kaaya arrived at the restaurant where they had made reservations. They were before time so they went inside and wait for him to show. Nimish was right on time. As he was walking towards the table, Kaaya hinted kriya about him. As soon as he reached table he said hi to both girls. "Hi Kriya. It's an amazing evening to have you again." To everyone's surprise both the girls replied. Nimish smirked, "I was ofcourse talking to Kriya Ms. Roomate. Yes I'm glad to meet you and was personally going to say it to you but seem like you're more excited than me to have this meet Ms. Kaaya or should I address you as Kriya." Kriya stumbled upon the response, "Kriya? Why would you call it normally? No reason to do so." " Hahaha... you got serious Miss. Ofcourse I have no reason to call you by someone else's name unless you want me to. I was talking to Kriya and you replied to it so I was confirming if I said it to the right girl." Kaaya interrupted, "Yes you got the right girl. Now please take a seat. Hope you're not going to stand all time while we have dinner and talk." They laughed and Nimish took the seat.

After they chatted for a moment, Kaaya asked Nimish why would he say yes after she had embarrassed him. Nimish smiled, "I wanted to know the reason why you acted weirdly the other day. If I would have said no we wouldn't be meeting because the chapter might have ended then and there. So now tell me were you expecting me to say a no Ms. Kaaya or to call you Kriya. Although I had never seen Kriya I knew you were not her. So what is it." As Kaaya was going to answer Kriya stopped her. "Let me clear it out. I'll be honest with you. I'm Kriya the woman you were supposed to meet yesterday. But I was not interested meeting you but my family insisted meeting you and they've been pursuing me for months. I have someone in my life and I didn't want to meet you that's why I convinced Kaaya against her will to meet you and to convince you to say no. Now I'm relieved with the burden. But you complicated things for us saying a yes." Nimish was listening patiently while his hands were crossed.

He took a deep breath. "So if that was the case why not come in person and sort it out. There's no need sending someone else at your place. Even I wasn't considering this marriage proposal and came to say no but all I went through I would not let it go easy. It would have been better if you yourself had come down to say a no." "I didn't want to. I've had my reasons. Now what to be done? If you're not ready, I'm not ready what's ahead?" "Now you've to tell your parents that I was not a gentleman and you got to know I'm having affairs. No need to take blame on yourself. Be free to put down my image I wouldn't mind you have my consent. I would call my parents and told you we're not compatible on certain grounds which are non negotiable for me and it was too early to say yes. Hope this works." "Yes it does. But not to part where I ruin your character. I would say things my parents won't agree to you being hardcore drinker and smoker." "Oh wow how excellent image that is... No different than what I've suggested though." "Yes it is." Kaaya was passively sitting there. Later on both Nimish and Kriya told her to speak up, "I have got nothing to say. You've decided and it's good. I'm sorry Nimish for the things I did yesterday. I didn't want to but I had to and is no excuse." "No it's ok... I can understand. Anyway will it be weird for us three to be friends?" Kriya excitedly, "Ofcourse not. It is a great idea." They conversated for an hour or so while having dinner. Upon coming home both Nimish and Kriya convinced their parents how this union was not suitable and to their fortune they agreed after many quarrels and arguments.
