The Bond

Kriya and Nimish convinced their parents to call off the marriage proposal.
Nimish, Kaaya and Kriya started hanging out frequently. Their bond and friendship grew with time. However, Kriya's boyfriend was not happy with the idea of her hanging out with Nimish, but it didn't stop her. Although she never spent alone time with him, they always used to meet in groups. Nimish used to visit their room on weekends, they used to have dinner together. At times, these three would hit the Shah couple's house. It has now become their go-to place. The elderly couple also liked spending time with these three. The Shah couple, Maasi Maa and Kriya, always believed that Nimish and Kaaya would end up together, and they made an effort to do so on every occasion.
It was a Saturday night, and everyone was going to have dinner night at Nimish's place. To help Nimish in cooking Kaaya and Kriya showed up early. It was their first time being at his place too. The doorbell rang, and Nimish hurried up to open the door; at the doorstep, he saw both girls standing facing back, "knock, knock, can we find Ray in here? Ray, are you there?" Both girls said in sync. "Yes, beautiful ladies, please turn around to find the coolest Ray here!" "We'll, but before that, guess who's who!?" "Why do you guys do this? Okay, the girl in red is Kaaya, and the girl in blue is Kriya. Am I right, or am I right as I'm always right!!!" Girls turned around and said, yay always right! They entered with cold drinks, chips and other ingredients bag.
As they entered, they were lost at how neat Nimish had kept the house. They washed their hands and feet and entered the kitchen. They assisted Nimish in cooking. Kriya helped him cook one dish while Kaaya could only offer her assistance. Kriya funnily said, "Ki and kaa, I think you should now start learning how to cook. How can we find you a guy who would feed you? Like always, what's say Nimish?" Nimish smirked while having his head down, "I would not mind cooking and feeding her for a lifetime... I'll be blessed to feed her without getting bored." Both Kriya and Kaaya chuckled. "See Kri, no worries, I've been granted with HIS mercy¡ Anyway, let's wrap up; others will join in anytime." For three, it was routine to roast and tease each other. The dinner was done and the two girls hit the couch to rest. However, Nimish stood back in the kitchen, cleaning up the kitchen. Kriya asked Nimish to join them, and they'll clear and clean the kitchen later, to which Nimish denied. They still had an hour or so before their friends could arrive.
Everyone gathered and had dinner. They all loved the food and appreciated Nimish for the delice. It was late at night and Nimish decided to drop off Kaaya and Kriya at their place. Kriya went running and sit the backseat, which left no option for Kaaya to sit in front. It was giving butterflies to both Nimish and Kaaya. Kriya silently recorded the moments where both were vibing to songs and their chemistry was evident from the eye contact. Kriya later was scrolling her phone and came across a social media video wherein a book festival was going on. She asked if the next day Kaaya and Nimish could join her. Nimish, being a bibliophile, agreed without hesitation; Kaaya got ready as well. They reached the location and everyone got off. They bid bye to Nimish and Kriya grabbed Kaaya's hand and went ahead. Nimish stood by his car until the last moment he was watching Kaaya go. While walking, Kaaya turned her back, and she found Nimish standing; Nimish noticed and waved his hand to say bye with a warm, big smile. Kaaya silently tucked her hair behind her ear and smiled.
Kriya left to sleep while it was a Saturday night ritual for Kaaya to connect over video call to her girlfriends. She had face time with her friends. The girls couldn't help noticing Kaaya's blush and glow. Dodo teased her, "Guys I'm seeing something unusual today... Someone is blushing..." The girls joined saying who who... "Of course it's Kaay... Who else it would be... But what's up with her." Gautami naughtily replied, "Madam was supposed to have dinner with Nimish today... Seems it went well." "Oh not only Nimish but with other friends as well." Sapna replied, "That is that we're concerned with you and Nimish... How's it?" Kaaya blushed. She started narrating the experience. "You guys cannot believe his house is on another level of cleanliness... We got freshened up and helped him in the kitchen. He knew his kitchen in and out, and we had no hard time finding things. He would just say it's in there and we could find it there. It was amazing..." The girls replied with, "Ohhh.... Is it?"
"Listen, next guys... Then we still had some time left so he showed me his house around. Kriya Slouchy didn't leave the couch. So, in his living room,, there's a corner dedicated to antiques. He is into showpieces. And to surprise guys he even had a gramophone. I asked him if it still plays like I was confused whether it was in function or another antique collection. He said yes and asked me to play anything. So I went from the collection of Kishor Kumar, Mohammad Rafi, The Mangeshkar sisters, and many other guys. I took one disc and was staring cluelessly at how it operates. He took my hand and showed me how to operate. I was so nervous putting it right on the plate, but he was confident. He adjusted the sound and guessed which song was played. It was "Aapki nazron ne smja Pyaar ke qaabil muze" We stood there and listened to music. I wonder how one song can hold your emotions this beautifully. It can create and bring you good memories and has the potential to walk you down memory lane. I instantly took the pictures and videos and shared them with Ana. Ana was on another level of the heavens. She fell in love with the arrangements he had made. It was one corner of the house, but it felt like a mini space of home." Gautami interrupted, "Wait a minute so Ana got to see the pictures and video and not me, us... Even we would have loved that..." Dodo and Sapna also teased Kaaya. "It wasn't the case Gau... At that moment, it made me think of Ana, so I shared it with her. I forgot to share it with you guys, but didn't I share other stuff with you all? I'm describing it now right?" Gautami still stood with her contention, "No. Gautami and others wanted to see it too. But Kaaya didn't show us; she showed it to Ana. Kaaya's love is decreasing for us." She said all this in a cute voice, and everyone could not help but smile... Kaaya replied, "Okay, okay... Kaaya plead guilty... Now Kaaya can resume with other things?" Everyone laughed and Kaaya started narrating.
"So as we moved next to the other wall of the corner, he had kept with all photo frames and albums. It was named "Nimish's Happy Place", it had all sorts of pictures. And no single photo had a pinch of dust on them. It was cleaned. I took a picture of that wall. So we moved next to his balcony... And oh my god. You must have seen the picture I've shared on group." Sapna replied, "Of course. He's having a swing. I, too, now want to have it." Dodo added, "and did you notice the seating arrangements of two he had made in the corner? God, it was so thoughtful and beautiful. And the plants as well. The way he had arranged. It was too much filled yet it was organised. It still looks spacious, how he even could manage to fit these many things." Kaaya replied, "I know, right...then we came back to the living room and another corner was filled with books and a few more antiques. He travelled so much so he had kept the things he bought from there as souvenirs. He told me a few stories of a few items. As he was narrating, the time passed by, and guests had arrived. But guys every single thing in his house had some meaning to him. It narrated Nimish..." Gautami, "Of course. The guy has various hobbies. You and him will have so much fun together in future..." Everyone chuckled. Later, all e narrated their life experiences. The call went on for 3 hours, and the girls fell asleep one by one on the call itself. The Saturday ritual allowed girls to feel close to each other, especially Kaaya, who was in another city.
The next morning, kaaya and Kriya got ready to head to the book festival they talked about. The three arrived at the book festival location. All of them were individually roaming and visiting different book counters exploring their respective genres. Kaaya randomly came near a counter and was left with no attendant. Kaaya couldn't resist the urge, so she took a book, opened it, and smelled the pages in thin air.
Kriya and Nimish were done exploring the fair, and it was time for them to leave, but Kaaya was nowhere to be found. They both went looking for her and as Nimish was pondering around looking for her, his eyes met with an innocent soul who was standing at the last counter smelling books and smiling like an infant. Nimish couldn't help but adore her innocence, he took out his phone and captured Kaaya to keep it a core memory. While on the other hand, Kaaya sighed as it was a therapeutic relief for her. As she was about to take another book, she caught Nimish capturing her, and all shyly covered her face with a book. Later, they purchased the book, had coffee at a nearby cafe and left for home.
