कायाच नुकतंच ब्रेकअप झालं होतं. नेहमी हसत खेळत राहणारी काया अचानक शांत शांत राहू लागली. माणसांनी भरलेले जग तिला आता नकोस झालं होतं. मित्र, घर कुठेच तिला शांत वाटत नव्हतं. ती मित्रांना भेटायची, त्यांच्यासोबत वेळ घालवायची आणि क्षणिक सुख का काय, ते पण तिला खूप बरे वाटायचे आणि विचारचक्रातून तेवढीच तिची सुटका. पण घरी परत आल्यावर परत विचार विश्वात तिचा प्रवेश व्हायचा. कायाची आई नेहमी तिच्या चिंतेत, की आपली हसरी मुलगी अचानक शांत का बरं राहू लागली असेल पण तिला कुठे, काही थांगपत्ता नव्हता की कायाच्या आयुष्यात काय चालले आहे. 
गौतमी तिची जवळची मैत्रीण जिला ती नित्याने रोज भेटायची. ती आणि बाकी मित्र मैत्रिणींमुळे का होईना तिचे दिवस तारले जात होते. परीक्षेमुळे गौतमी ला रोज भेटणं आता शक्य नव्हतं पण तरी ती वेळात वेळ काढून भेटायचं म्हणुन यायचे. गौतमीची किंवा बाकी इतर मित्रांची भेट किंवा बोलणं झाल नाही की त्या दिवशी मात्र काया एकाकी आपल्या घरात पडून राहायची. परत आपल्या विचारांच्या विश्वात गुरफटत राहायची.
हळूहळू काया स्वतः बाहेर पडू लागली. कोणी सोबत असो वा नसो ती आपली एकटी चप्पल पायात घालून घराबाहेर पडू लागली. एक दिवस असच संध्याकाळचं ती जवळच असलेल्या नदीकाठच्या उद्यानात जाऊन बसली. शांत नीरस आयुष्यात अचानक कोणाचे तरी आगमन होणार असल्याची तिला चाहूल हि नव्हती.
असच त्या दिवशी उद्यानात चक्कर मारत असताना तिचं लक्ष एका मुलाकडे गेलं. तो मुलगा एकटाच, एकाकी अगदी तिच्यासारखं उद्यानात गवतावर बसून होता, त्याच्या फोनमध्ये डोकं घालून बघत होता जणू कोणाच्या तरी आठवणी मध्ये. हे एवढं कायाने फक्त एका नझरेत पाहिले आणि ती पुढे निघून आली. 
काया मावळत्या सूर्याची सोनेरी किरणे बघत तिचे आशेचे किरण बांधत होती. मध्येच एक नजर तिथे असलेल्या कुटुंबावर पडली. एक काकू त्यांच्या मुलीचा आणि नवऱ्याचा फोटो काढत होत्या. ती मुलगी जाम खुश होती आणि तिचे बाबा तिला शांत करत होते. त्याचं कायाला खूप अप्रूप वाटले आणि ती त्या बापलेकाकडे बघून हसली. कुठेतरी काया त्या मायेला आसुसलेली होती, तिला सुध्दा आपल्या बाबांनी आपल्याला असच शांत करावं असं वाटतं होतं. तिचे स्मित हास्य बघून काका मात्र गोंधळात पडले की ही मुलगी कोण, आपण हिला ओळखतो का, ही का असे हसत असेल आणि त्यांचा प्रश्र्नंकीत चेहरा बघून काया परत सूर्याला बघू लागली. पाण्यातील सूर्याचे प्रतिबिंब तिला शांत करत होते. तिच्या मनातील विचार जणू त्या सूर्यासारखे मावळतीला आले होते. थोड्या वेळ ते बघून जसा सूर्य अस्ताला गेला तिने हळूच मागे वळून पाहिले तर मगासचा मुलगा तिच्या मागच्या बाकावर येऊन बसला होता. दोघांची एकमेकांकडे पाठ होती पण तश्यात पण का ठाऊक त्याने सुद्धा मान वर करून पाहिले आणि मग काय दोघांची नजरानजर झाली. साधी सुधी नाही तर अगदी डोळ्यात डोळ्यात भिडले. त्याच्या डोळ्यातील अश्रू काया च्या लक्षात आले तसेच त्याने ते हातातल्या रुमालाने टिपले. तिने पटकन नजर परत फिरवली आणि ती आजूबाजूला असलेल्या गोष्टी बघू लागली.त्याचा तो उदास चेहरा मात्र कायाला खूप अस्वस्थ करत होता. ती विचार करू लागली, काय दुःख असेल याला, व्यक्त करता येईल का, आले तर कोणाकडे? आपण जाऊन त्याच्याशी बोलायचा प्रयत्न करायचा का? पण केला तर ते किती विचित्र वाटेल? अचानक कसं असं जाऊन बोलणार ना आणि नकळत तिने परत मान वळवुन पाहिले तर तो मुलगा तिथे नव्हता, तिने चारी बाजूला त्याला शोधले पण दूर दूर पर्यंत तो काही दिसेना. असो गेला असेल तो त्याच्या मार्गाला असा विचार करुन काया पण थोडया वेळाने तिथून निघाली. 
घरी आल्यावर सुध्दा कायाच्या विचारांमधून तो मुलगा काही जात नव्हता. त्याचा तो उदास चेहरा कायाला अस्वस्थ करत होता. तो पुन्हा दिसेल या आशेने काही दिवस काया त्याच वेळेस उद्यानात जाऊन बसून राहायची. त्या दिवसानंतर मात्र तो मुलगा काय तिला पुन्हा दिसला नाही. एक दिवस काया स्वतःशीच पुटपुटत होती, "मी का त्या अनोळखी मुलाच्या भेटीच्या आशेने इथे येत आहे, त्याचा तो अस्वस्थ चेहरा का माझ्या रोज स्वप्नात येत आहे, का मला हा व्यक्ती ओळख नसूनही आपला वाटू लागला आहे." पण याचे उत्तर तिच्या कडे ही नव्हते. असच हळू हळू कायाने पण तो पुन्हा दिसेल अशी आशा सोडली. 
असेच काही दिवस निघून गेले. हळू हळू काया सुध्दा आपल्या अभ्यासात मग्न झालेली. माणसांमध्ये पूर्वी सारखी मिसळायला लागलेली. असच एकदा काया आणि girls gang आज भेटल्या. काया, गौ, सपना आणि डोडो आज खूप महिन्यांनी एकत्र भेटणार होत्या. नेहमी प्रमाणे काया तयार होउन गौतमीची वाट पहात होती तोच गौतमीचा फोन की ती कपड्यांना घेउन प्रश्नात आहे की काय घालू?  शेवटी काया आणि गौतमी आवरून निघाल्या तर. गौतमी डोडोला पाहून म्हणाली की ती आज खूप सुंदर दिसत होती, म्हणजे ती नेहमीच दिसते पण आज मात्र तिचे सौंदर्य अधिकच खुलून आलेले. सपनाचा कॉर्पोरेट लूक जरा प्रशंसा करण्या जोगा आहे. एवढ्या गप्पा मस्ती की बस. गौतमीच्या नवीन crush शी माहिती सपना आणि डोडोला दिली. डोडोला मुलगा आवडला आणि तिने गौतमीला तोंडभरून चिडवल. नंतर डोडोला नवीन नोकरी लागल्यामुळे डोडोची ऑफिसच्या कपड्यांची खरेदी करायला पोरी मॉल मध्ये गेल्या. कपडे सोडून cosmetic विकत घेतले पोरींने. असो... बिल pay करून बाहेर पडत असताना एका मुलाची कायाला धडक बसते. दोघंही सामानासहित खाली पडतात आणि पडलेले सामान सावरत उठतात आणि एकमेकांची माफी मागतात. कायाला तो चेहरा बघितल्यासारखा जाणवत होता पण कुठे ते नव्हते लक्षात येत. असच घाई मध्ये सगळे बाहेर पडतात, अचानक परत येत असताना गाडीवर कायाला आठवते हा मुलगा तर तोच त्या दिवशीचा उदास चेहऱ्याचा होता. नंतर सामान काढताना बघितलं तेव्हा कळाले की बिल ची कॉपी वेगळ्याच माणसाच्या नावाने आहे. तेव्हा गौतमीच्या लक्षात येते की टक्कर झालेली तेव्हा चुकून कागद बदलला असेल. त्या वरच नाव डोडोने वाचलं निमिष रे. आणि सगळ्याजणी परत ते नाव एकत्र उच्चारतात निमिष... काया घरी येताना पूर्ण वेळ मन्यातल्या मनात निमिष, निमिष रे असा नामजप करत असते. 
काया आणि त्या मुलाचे परत भेट होइल का? व्हायला हवे का?

Kaaya recently had a break-up. Kaya, who was always smiling and giggling, suddenly became silent. She no longer wanted to be seen and her wish to socialize was dead. Friends, home nowhere she could feel at peace. She used to meet friends and spend time with them and whatever the momentary pleasures were, she felt very good, and that was her release from the cycle of thoughts. But after returning home, she would enter the world of thoughts again. Kaya's mother was always worried about why her smiling daughter would suddenly become calm but she had no idea what was going on in Kaya's life.
Gautami was her close friend whom she used to meet daily. Her days and her mind were relaxed by her and the rest of her friends. Due to the exam, it was not possible to meet Gautami every day, but she used to make time to meet her.
When she couldn't meet or talk to Gautami or her other friends on such day Kaya would lie alone in her house. Back to the world of our thoughts. 
Gradually Kaya began to come out of the situation on her own. Whether she was accompanied or not, she started roaming out of the house alone. One day in the evening, she went and sat in the nearby riverside park. She had no idea that someone was about to enter into her quiet, monotonous life. That day, while walking around the park, she noticed a guy. The guy was sitting alone on the grass in the park just like her, staring into his phone as if he was lost in someone's memory. Kaaya saw this in just one glance and walked away.
Kaaya was gazing at the golden rays of the setting sun, building her ray of hope. She glanced at the family who were standing a distance apart there. An aunt was photographing her daughter and husband. The kid was very happy and her dad was soothing her. Kaaya found the moment very calming and she smiled at the father-daughter duo. Somewhere, Kaya was longing for that love; she also wanted her father to pacify her like this. Seeing her smile, Uncle was confused about who is this girl. Do we know her? Why is she smiling like that? Upon seeing his questioning face, Kaya looked back at Sun. The reflection of the sun in the water soothed her. The thoughts in her mind had set like the sun. After watching it for a while, as the sun went down, she slowly turned back, and to her surprise, the guy from before had come and sat on the bench behind her. Both of them had their backs to each other, but even so, he also raised his head and looked up and then they saw each other. It was not a simple coincidence, but eye-to-eye eye contact was done. Kaya noticed the tears in his eyes and he instantly wiped them away with a handkerchief. She quickly turned her eyes back and started looking at the things around her. But his sad face was making Kaaya very uncomfortable. She started thinking, what kind of grief would it be, can it be expressed, to whom? Should I go and try to talk to him? But how weird would it feel if I did? How could she suddenly go and talk like that and meanwhile unconsciously she turned her head back, and the guy was not there, she looked for him from all sides, but he was nowhere to be seen. Thinking that he must have gone anyway, Kaaya left after a while.
Even after coming home, the guy was not leaving Kaaya's thoughts. His sad face was disturbing Kaaya. Kaaya started going to the park and sitting there for some days, hoping that she would see him again. But alas, after that day she did not see that boy again. One day, Kaaya was muttering to herself, "Why am I coming here hoping to meet that unknown guy? Why is his restless face coming into my dreams every day? why am I starting to feel like I know this person even though I don't know him." But she didn't have the answer. Kaaya slowly gave up hope of seeing him again.
A few days passed like that. Slowly Kaaya also got engrossed in her studies. Started mixing with people like before. Kaaya and the girls' gang met today. Kaya, Gau, Sapna and Dodo were to meet together today after many months. As usual, Kaya was waiting for Gautami to get ready; at the same time, her phone rang, and it was Gautami as she was in question about what to wear? Gautami looks at Dodo and says that she was looking very beautiful today, I mean, she always looks, but today her beauty is top-notch. Sapna's corporate look is worth appreciating. Sapna and Dodo are informed about Gautami's new crush. Dodo liked the boy and teased Gautami.
Later, as Dodo got a new job, the girls went to the mall to buy Dodo's office clothes. Instead of clothes, the girls bought cosmetics. Anyway... While leaving after paying the bill, a guy hits Kaya. Both fell down with their belongings and instantly got up, picked up the fallen belongings, and apologized to each other. Kaaya felt as if she had seen that face before but could not remember where it was. Everyone goes out in a hurry, and while coming back, Kaaya suddenly remembers this guy as he was the same boy with a sad face from that day. Later, when they looked at the luggage, they realized that the copy of the bill was in the name of a different person. Then Gautami realizes that the paper must have been exchanged by mistake when the collision of Kaaya and that guy took place. On that bill, Dodo read the name as Nimish Ray. And everyone calls that name back together Nimish... Kaya is chanting Nimish, Nimish Ray in her mind all the time while coming home.
Will Kaya and the boy meet again? Should it happen?
